Here's a list of tips on how to survive CebulaCamp. This knowledge is especially useful if this is your first hacker event.
Remember to bring with you:
- Your ticket (keep the QR code private!).
- A laptop.
- A charger for your laptop and any other electronic devices.
- A power extension cord/splitter - the amount of electric sockets will be limited.
- An ethernet cable (10m+) if you want wired access. You can also bring desktop network switches and shorter cords for you and fellow co-hackers.
- Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and camping chair/tarp for chilling outside.
- Cash for donation-based services.
Once you're on location, you should register to get a wristband in exchange for your ticket QR code.
Then, we encourage you to:
- Find a spot to seat - either amongst friends or strangers. There is no seat reservation, so if a spot seems abandoned, you're free to seat there!
- Talk to people. If you're struggling to come up with a topic, you can just start with a “Hi, I've just arrived, what are you all up to?”.
- Connect to the network.
- Watch a talk. The main room has a stage on which talks will be held.
- Chill in the sun (or rain) outside.
- Chill in the Lounge.
- Volunteer! This event only works because we all try to help out. It's also a great way to meet people.
There's some place for tents in front of the venue. Feel free to pitch up a tent there. Please keep in mind that the camping grounds are not being watched! Do not leave any valuables in your tent.
